Hagen Mills, an actor who appeared in the “Baskets” television series, died on Tuesday after he allegedly shot his young daughter ‘s mother, police said in Mayfield, KY.
Officers rushed to a 911 call Tuesday night at a home where a woman had been shot. The woman, Erica Price, sustained bullet wounds on her arm and chest and informed officers that the shooter was Mills, according to a Mayfield police release.
Mills was found at the home and pronounced dead.
“He was a sweet boy,” Cindy Riley, a cousin of Mills, told Fox News on Thursday.
“I know it’s a bad thing but he was a talented boy and we loved him,” the cousin continued. “I don’t have anything bad to say about him. It’s a terrible situation.”
Price, which as of Wednesday afternoon was listed in stable condition, was identified by police as the mother of Mills’ young daughter. The daughter and Price ‘s mother were both present at the time of the crime but uninjured.
Mayfield Police reported to Fox News that they are now treating the shooting as a “murder-suicide.” Officers said Price told on-scene officials he fired her before turning the firearm on himself.
